A friend of mine is convinced that if one commits suicide they cannot go to heaven. I'm not positive on this and would like to know what the word says about it.

No where in the word does it say that if you commit suicide that you are going to hell. The word says, without faith it is impossible to please him. The word says, we are saved through faith, and not of ourselves, it is the gift of God.
Many will take scriptures and twist them to benefit themselves; Example: the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. They will then say, see they killed themselves and that was sin, so they can't go to heaven. But they have never read Psalms 103 where God says he has never dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Supposely; someone would say, I hate this world and I want to be with my Lord Jesus. They then say, Lord Jesus into your hand I give my soul and then commit suicide, are they telling me that person will go to hell. Are they telling me that God's grace and mercy cannot or will not cover that person.
I am not God and neither are they, and cannot try to play God and determine whether that person is going to hell. I do know this; the word says, where sin abounds, grace abounds more.
So now, you tell me? Heaven or Hell
